Swing check valves are automatic one-way valves that use a hinged disc to allow forward flow and prevent reverse flow by swinging closed when flow stops. They offer low pressure drop and are suitable for horizontal or vertical installations. Commonly used in water, oil, and gas pipelines for backflow prevention.
